The Upper West Branch of the Penobscot River is perhaps the best known waterway in the east for observing and photographing moose! Moose in Maine are unmistakable by virtue of their size and you can spot and photograph them as you seek out their presence in Maine's natural habitat.

The river's West Branch from Ripogenus Dam to the Pemadumcook Lakes is famous for its numerous falls and rapids which provide outstanding whitewater rafting and angling for wild landlocked Atlantic salmon. 

Katahdin Outfitters provides its clients with multiple drop off and pickup points along the 67 miles that make up the Penobscot River corridor. You can set your trip to these different points to accommodate the vacation time frame you may have.
